While there are many shrink sleeve material options out there, the two most common are PVC and PETG. And also OPS,Which you choose will depend on budget, application and how much the material will need to shrink to wrap around your container.
PETG tends to be more expensive, but has a higher shrink potential -good for uniquely shaped packaging- and is considered more environmentally friendly than PVC. PVC is cost-effective and performs well in use, but only offers 60% shrink potential, limiting which containers it can be used for.
OPS is the most expensive among PVC, PETG. The shrinkage percentage could reach as much as 76% from the initial width of the film.OPS advantages are low specific gravity 1.03 g/cm³;high percentage of maximum shrinkage >70%; even shrinkage;excellent transparency, sparkle and gloss. When the ops is shrinking, the film can stick firmly to the surface of the bottle and seldom distortion.
The process of packaging a product is as follows:
1. The design company provides the finished design according to the wishes of the manufacturer
2. Go to the plate making company to make the printing plate roller.
3. Go to the printing factory to complete the packaging product
4. Pack the product with finished packaging and the testing
5 . Facing market sales and test the market running. All procedures of these above shows, there will be hundreds of production links, so each product has to spend a lot of effort before it can be circulated in the market. Then the cycle of the whole process, from the confirmation of the manuscript to the packaging of the product, the fastest time is 3 days for plate making and 7 days for printing and bag making. That is to say, it takes about 10 days for the manufacturer to confirm the manuscript and get the package and try to see the effect.
With the development of technology, how long does it take to complete this process now? The correct answer is that it only takes 3 hours. So how do we do it? We use HP's digital printing press to cooperate with the traditional fast sample production to achieve this tedious process. No plate making is required, and any problems can be corrected on the spot. It is as simple as printing + sample production, two links. In this way, manufacturers can greatly reduce the cost of R&D trial and error, and can quickly get market feedback to strive for maximum timeliness. The flexibility of digital printing is, there is no limit to the graphic number if share the same size, can reach one label and one graphic and with the same price with low quantity. And reach 7 days finished goods coming out, which shorten the running into market for the new products.
When you want to make mass quantity from one or two packaging like about 50000pcs per design, then we can turn into another printing method ,that is rotogravure printing. This method is more economic way to support large quantity shrink sleeve label packaging.
